Xmas, New Year and beyond

Christmas was spent in London - there is no transport apart from black cabs so getting across London is incredibly expensive so I stayed Xmas eve with my dad and his partner, who had come to London for a holiday.

Xmas day was spent walking around London, getting a little lost and seeing some sights. After walking forever in the freezing (but not snowing) weather we managed to find probably one of the only open pubs on Xmas day, and of course, they were doing a roaring trade.

Refuelled we walked back home again and put on the little xmas dinner that we were making in our little microwave/convection oven. It wasn't bad for a xmas meal for three, turkey, roasty potatoes, asparagus and vege mix. Pudding was of course Chrissy Pud, with custard and brandy sauce.

The next couple days were spent sight seeing and general wandering around London. Even though it was cold, the weather remained mostly dry.
We also had a couple of day trips away. Seeing Brighton and Hampton Court Palace...

New Year was spent with friends at a party in Aldgate, East London and finished off in Brixton, South London. We watched the fireworks on a projector and had a pretty good time out.

Tomorrow I'm off to Paris on the Eurostar.
