Botanical

On 9 April I went to the Royal Kew Botanical Gardens. Now, you see, one has to pay to enter these gardens and with the abundance of free parks around London, you might wonder why anyone bothers....

but..

oh my....

Pretty!!

There are 5 glasshouses!

Hmm - didn't get to all of them.

A pagoda.

A treetop walk - that actually made me feel a bit motion sick.

Fish?!

And flowers..

Probably going back - I like it a lot.

  1. Did not realise there were fish at Kew?! I live in London and have never been, and I'm a florist. Pretty shameful eh?

  2. Underneath in one of the glasshouses, small aquarium with water plants. It is understandable why people don't go as there are so many parks in London, but it is worth a trip, wait for spring, I say.

A note about the pagoda, I just read in Bill Bryson's book At Home that it used to be covered in golden bits with dragons etc, it would have been quite a sight. Also, there used to be other follies in the gardens, which is a shame, as I do love follies.
